The rates of the data can go up to a maximum of 4 megabits per second. The VSAT touch base with satellites that are placed in geosynchronous orbit and transmits data from earth stations to hubs. VSAT can transmit both narrow band data (e.g. Credit card transactions) and broadband data (VoIP). VSAT can also be used for mobile applications like maritime communications.
