As some already know, here on our site we have cost comparison calculators to allow our visitors to find the best deals possible on IT and Telecommunications products and services. Now, of course, when our visitors compare the various providers and services, make their decision and purchase, we typically earn a commission from the provider.

We have been advocating about improving veteran care and helping out others and decided we would put our money where our mouth is. For the next month, 100% of all commissions earned from Brochin.net will be donated to various veteran funds to help wounded warriors. However, we are not stopping at one month. After one month, we will donate 50% of our commission to a wounded veterans organization for the next year. That is 100% of our websites revenue for the first month starting today, and 50% of our sites revenue for the remaining year after.

If you or someone you know is looking for some type of IT or Telecom service, point them this way. If they need a computer, printer, accessories, well, they can find it with us. Internet service? Find it here. International calling? Yep, got that too. Internet Phone service? Of course!

As you may have noticed we have made some major changes to the site. The big change to take note of is the Advantage members area is no longer a seperate site. It is built into the current site and it is totally free to all members of our mailing list. Inside the advantage area is software, webtemplates and grpahics as well as e-books, with much, much more to come in the future.

To access the Advantage member’s area, just click the the tab in the menu at the top, enter the password and you now have access. This area is only available to subscribers of our mailing list for free. When you join you will recieve an e-mail with the current password. The password will change periodically and members will be notified via the mailing list when it does.

Other note to mention is the improvements to the cost comparison search engines. As you will see, there is a tab for VoIP, High Speed Internet, Dedicated Internet, Cell phones and Plans, Equipment Resellers and International Calling. We plan on adding more in the future for you to compare local domestic services as well as long distance services. These tools are great and allow you to conduct side by side comparison of different companies, their services and plans. Try them out now and see.

A value-added reseller (VAR) is an organization that adds attribute(s) or its own ‘value’ to an existing product(s) before reselling it to end – users or other businesses as a complete package. This is very common nowadays in the IT industry when new software applications are added to existing hardware.

For example, a value added reseller might take any operating system like IBM’s OS/390 with Unix services and add its own proprietary UNIX application for medical researchers and then resell the complete package to medical research firm. Another example of a value added reseller could be that he may source a printer, chip, monitor, memory card, hard drive and software from different vendors and assemble them to sell as one product.

Lately, VAR has also found its place in the services field and offers various components like system design, strategic planning, system implementation, asset tracking, database development, web development, consulting, research and technical support.

There are various advantages for buying from value added resellers. Resellers have pre-negotiated pricing on products and services from authorized distributors that enable them to get higher discounts as compared to what a customer would get if going direct. This is because a reseller has higher tiered discounting due to previous engagements for other clients, and the strategic partnership between the source vendor and value added reseller which brings in bulk business.

The value added reseller can also collaborate with other vendors which help the client in deciding the best solution for them. This would work out better for clients as otherwise the client would have to individually speak to all vendors and trust their word. In the case of buying from a value added reseller, the client would only have to confront one single company for the defects of its product or service. Thus, the client’s business would benefit from cost savings as well as time savings.
